CT CAT WEB is looking for a new Web Manager! Please contact dee@dreslough.com if you would like to take over running this site!

CT CAT ADOPTION (Wanted and Available) BOARDS

To speed the response time for posting of all cats wanted for adoption, or up for adoptions to good homes we now have a dynamic message board. If you have lost your cat or have found a cat, please use our special Lost and Found Message Board instead.

Rules:

To go to the Adoption board, Click here.

To go to the Lost and Found Cat board, Click here.

Posting to the Board - How to add Dynamic HTML, like pictures and Hyperlinks.

You don't need to add anything fancy to your posts for them to be effective, but for you more HTML-savvy types, if you want, you can add links. This is useful if you have a website for your cat for adoption, or a poster for your lost cat.

ADDING AN EMAIL ADDRESS to your CAT POST:

The code to add an email address is this:

<A HREF="mailto:YOUREMAIL">Your Name</A>

For example: <A HREF="mailto:dee@dreslough.com">Email Dee!</A>

The link will look like this: Email Dee!

ADDING A WEB PAGE LINK to YOUR CAT POST:

The code to add a Web Link is this:

<A HREF="http://THEWEBADDRESS">Your Link Name</A>

For example: <A HREF="https://members.tripod.com/~Kirra">Visit the CT Cat Rescue Website</A>

The link will look like this: Visit the CT Cat Rescue Website

ADDING A PICTURE to YOUR CAT POST:

First, upload your picture to your own website, and then open the picture in your browser to make sure you've got the address right. For instance, if your website was members.tripod.com/~Kirra and the picture name was "goldie.JPG", you'd use the address: https://members.tripod.com/~Kirra/goldie.JPG

Next, use File/New to Open a New Window. This gives you two browsers (either Internet Explorer or Netscape) open at the same time. Surf over to the Catweb boards and click 'Add a Post'.

Type in your post as you would like, and where you'd like the picture, put:

<IMG SRC="http://your website address/your picture name">

I like to cut and paste the URL I used in the other browser window into the IMG SRC tag so I can be sure I got it right the first time. That's why I recommend you open up the picture in another browser to make sure you have the address right, because you can't delete a post once it's gone up...You have to email me to get it taken down.

The final code, in the case of our Goldie example, looks like this, but in the post, the picture shows up:

<IMG SRC="https://members.tripod.com/~Kirra/goldie.JPG">

Then, submit your post to the board. Unfortunately, there is no way to preview your post to make sure you got the code right. If you mispost and your code doesn't work, email dee@dreslough.com and she'll remove your post and help you repost it.
